On 24–25 September, CPE joined partners from across Europe for the SEISMIC consortium meeting in Barcelona, hosted by Hospital Clínic de Barcelona.
SEISMIC is a project aiming to transform neurosurgical care by integrating minimally invasive surgical techniques with advanced, real-time imaging technologies.
The two-day meeting was an opportunity for the consortium to come together in person, share progress since the project’s kick-off, exchange ideas and discuss the next steps for SEISMIC.
The programme combined project updates with interactive workshops and discussions, including a session on minimally invasive surgery for intracerebral haematomas and a dedicated session on data collection and Health Technology Assessment (HTA). These sessions provided opportunities for partners to share their work, discuss challenges and explore how different areas of the project can come together to support its overall objectives.
A visit to Hospital Clínic Barcelona was also part of the programme, giving partners the opportunity to see the clinical environment and connect the project’s research and innovation activities with real-world healthcare practice.
CPE’s role in SEISMIC
CPE is contributing to SEISMIC by bringing the patient’s perspective into the project’s innovation journey. CPE supports meaningful patient engagement and stakeholder outreach, helping ensure that the development and implementation of new approaches take into account the needs and experiences of patients. As part of this work, CPE organised an online Patient Advocacy Workshop in April 2026, bringing together consortium partners, clinicians and researchers to explore how patient perspectives can be better integrated into research and innovation.
The Barcelona meeting was an important opportunity to strengthen collaboration across the consortium and ensure that patient perspectives remain part of discussions as the project progresses.
