On 10–11 September 2026, partners of the SALVOVAR project met in Brussels for their annual project meeting, hosted by CPE.
SALVOVAR is a European multidisciplinary clinical project that aims to improve the management and outcomes of patients with poor-prognosis ovarian cancer following neoadjuvant chemotherapy. The project focuses on patients whose cancer remained difficult to treat and explors approaches to optimise treatment, with the ultimate goal of improving survival and quality of life.
Over two days, partners took stock of how far the project had come and looked ahead to the next phase of SALVOVAR. With the phase III clinical trial progressing, discussions explored the latest developments in recruitment and data collection, as well as what would be needed to ensure robust evidence from the study.
A highlight of the meeting was the stakeholder workshop “Building Better Clinical Trials Together: A Stakeholder Dialogue on Pragmatic Trials in Europe,”. Bringing together different perspectives from research, clinical practice and patient organisations, the workshop explored how pragmatic clinical trials and real-world evidence could help address unmet needs in oncology, and how stronger collaboration could make this possible.
At CPE, we believe that meaningful patient involvement and collaboration across research, clinical practice and policy are essential to developing better cancer care. We were pleased to bring the SALVOVAR partners and stakeholders together in Brussels to support this shared ambition and help ensure that the needs and experiences of patients remain at the heart of the project.
