The European Health Technology Assessment Regulation: The Political Will – Webinar Report
This Event Report documents a webinar co-hosted by Pancreatic Cancer Europe and Cancer Patients Europe on 28 February 2023 examining the new EU Health Technology Assessment Regulation ahead of its May 2023 entry into force. With 53 attendees from 145 registrants, the event featured a keynote from European Commission DG SANTE, a welcome message from MEP Tomislav Sokol, and panel discussions with representatives from ESMO, EFPIA, CPE, the European Access Academy, and Pancreatic Cancer Action. Key themes addressed opportunities and challenges of the HTA Regulation including patient involvement in Joint Clinical Assessments, methodological frameworks, national implementation preparedness, conflict of interest criteria, and the need for systematic rather than voluntary patient engagement. Annexes include full responses from all panellists.
