Cancer Patients Europe Annual Activity Report 2022
Cancer Patients Europe’s Annual Activity Report 2022 documents the organisation’s founding year following establishment in Belgium in March 2022. Ten cancer patient associations collaborated to create CPE with three founding members identified for administrative purposes: Northern Ireland Rare Disease Partnership, Spanish Federation of Breast Cancer Associations, and Bladder Cancer Norway. By December 2022, membership reached 18 members across 13 countries. Key achievements despite having no staff included launching the myC (My Cancer My Concern) initiative with a pan-European survey on genomic testing in breast cancer presented at EBCC Barcelona, submitting four EU project proposals (three funded: PREVENT, ThermoBreast, INTERCEPTOR), establishing partnerships with EAU, ESMO, EHA, ECO, Anticancer Fund, and EFPIA, participating in major events addressing HTA, clinical trials innovation, and patient centricity, developing visual identity and launching website and social media channels, and appointing UniTS as secretariat manager and Antonella Cardone as CEO in late 2022.
