This Call to Action, produced by Cancer Patients Europe in collaboration with the EFPIA Oncology Platform and IHE following the EWAC 2024 webinar series, addresses cancer care inequalities across five dimensions: prevention and early detection, innovative diagnostics, treatment innovation, survivorship, and smoking cessation. Building on evidence from the IHE and OECD reports on cancer inequalities, the document articulates concrete policy demands for the incoming EU mandate — including integration of cancer indicators into EU health governance, harmonised reimbursement frameworks for diagnostics, legislative action on the Right to Be Forgotten, and adoption of WHO tobacco cessation guidelines. The Call to Action is open for endorsement.
