Cancer Patients Europe had the pleasure of hosting the first event on Patient Leadership to tackle Cancer in Europe and presenting CPE’s mission to give cancer patients and survivors a voice in European decision-making.
The burden that cancer brings to the EU society and economy is increasing in the coming years and decades, and there has never been a better moment to discuss how to co-create policies that drive patient-centricity.
This event starts a conversation about empowering oncology patients and survivors in European policymaking.
We would like to sincerely thank all the engaging speakers that shared their expertise and knowledge on these issues: Francisco Lozano, Jacqueline Daly, Merel Hennink and Antonella Cardone from Cancer Patients Europe – CPE, Mark Person from the OECD – OCDE, Patrycja Rzadkowska from ECO, Wendy Yared from Association of European Cancer Leagues, Ivana Cattaneo from Novartis and EFPIA – European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations, Béla Dajka from the European Commission, Professor Jean-Yves Blay from ESMO – European Society for Medical Oncology, MEP Nicolás González Casares and MEP Tomislav Sokol from the European Parliament, and Dr Françoise Meunier from the Belgian Royal Academy of Medicine.
We look forward to continuing an intensive dialogue with all the participants to make patients’ voices heard today and tomorrow.
