Ending Financial Discrimination Against Cancer Survivors

Our CEO Antonella Cardone took the stage at the High-Level Conference on Ending Financial Discrimination Against Cancer Survivors, led by Dr Françoise Meunier on the 15th of February 2024, in Brussels. Antonella emphasized the crucial role of patient advocacy in developing the Right to be Forgotten and the importance of having a common European frame.

The conference brought together diverse perspectives, including insights from the Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health & Social Affairs Frank Vandenbroucke, EU commissioners Stella Kyriakides and Mairead McGuinness, payer experts, patient advocates, physicians, and cancer survivors who bravely shared their stories. Another highlight was the impactful exchange with Members of the European Parliament, MEP Deirdre Clune, MEP Kateřina Konečná, MEP Tilly Metz, MEP Dolors Montserrat, MEP Tomislav Sokol, and Portugal’s Minister of Health, Manuel Pizarro.

The renewed commitment to fight discrimination resonated throughout the event, making it clear that cancer survivors must be treated fairly and equally, free from reminders of the past.
