On July 18, 2024, CPE members convened for the Annual General Assembly Meeting. This was the second AGM since the organisation’s inception and marked a pivotal moment for reflection and future planning.
Opening Address:
Francisco Lozano, Chair of the Board and the AGM, delivered a welcoming address highlighting the significant progress CPE made throughout 2023. He provided a comprehensive review of the organisation’s achievements and ongoing projects, reaffirming CPE’s commitment to its core goals and vision.
New Board Members:
The assembly elected two new board members, Anita Granero, President and Founder of “OSCAR’S ANGELS Italia” and “OSCAR’S ANGELS France” and James Caldwell, representing the Northern Ireland Rare Disease Partnership.
Granero, with over two decades of experience in paediatric oncology, will bring valuable insights from her work in clinical ethics and volunteer training. Her dual leadership roles in France and Italy, along with her personal connection as a family member of a cancer patient, highlight her dedication to advance paediatric cancer care.
Caldwell, as a rare cancer survivor, and patient advocate with financial expertise will be of high support to the Board and the Team. Caldwell is also actively engaged with the Northern Ireland Rare Disease Partnership, underscoring his commitment to improving outcomes for those affected by rare diseases.
Key Decisions:
The assembly approved the 2023 financial and annual activity reports, and the 2025 action plan and budget.
The meeting concluded with unanimous enthusiasm and motivation for the upcoming initiatives and the next steps.
CPE extends its heartfelt appreciation to all who participated in the dynamic discussions and looks forward to a productive and impactful year ahead.
