    Cancer Patients Europe ( is a pan-European all cancer type organisation, uniting cancer patients, carers and survivors, and envisions reducing the burden of cancer for all those affected by the disease across the European continent. Committed to cooperation, CPE is actively partnering with other stakeholders, further entrenching its commitment to ensuring that all cancer patients, no matter where they live in Europe, have access to the best and most innovative treatments in a timely manner.

    The Position

    CPE is recruiting an Executive Assistant based in Brussels to support the CPE Board and CEO. The Executive Assistant will work full-time and hybrid in close cooperation with the CPE Board and CEO.

    Although CPE will provide guidance and support, the position is independent, and the work can be organised as preferred.

    Main Activities

    Key responsibilities:

    • To coordinate and organise appointments and work trips for the Board and the CEO;
    • To book flights and hotels;
    • To update the Board and CEO calendar;
    • To control and manage CEO correspondence;
    • To submit expense reports and reimbursements in accordance with the travel policies of CPE and partners;
    • To fill in the timesheets of the CEO according to the regulations of European projects.

    All tasks will be conducted in close cooperation with the Board and the CEO.

    Education and skills

    • Higher education, preferably with experience in the profit and non-profit sector;
    • Ability to plan the workload, estimate timelines accurately and meet tight deadlines;
    • Knowledge of the major planning tools (Zoom, Teams, Google and Outlook Calendar).


    • Proactive approach, collegiality, readiness to offer a helping hand in various tasks, sociable and mature personality able to relate with peers and high-level officials;
    • Demonstrated ability to work well with others in both team and independent environments;
    • Willingness and availability to work remotely;
    • Ability to work in an international and multicultural environment.


    • Outstanding written and verbal skills in English (English fluency is mandatory) and attention to detail and numeracy.


    • Relevant prior professional experience in a similar position is desirable;
    • Proficiency in using Microsoft Word and Excel is essential;
    • Experience in preparing documents, such as reports and graphs, and creating and using Excel tables.

    What we offer

    This is a full-time position.  The honorarium will be based on the specific experience and expertise of the candidate.
