Continuous support for the Cancer Inequalities Manifesto: Every Signature a Step Closer to Our Target

Exciting developments unfolded on the 11th of April at the European Parliament as our CEO, Antonella Cardone, and María Teresa Deus Trasobares, President of ASARGA and member of CPE,  had the pleasure of meeting with MEPs Ana Miranda and Tilly Metz from the Greens/EFA, and MEP Nicolás González Casares from the S&D group.

Following a discussion about the future of cancer care in Europe, the three MEPs endorsed the Manifesto previously unveiled by CPE and CECOG during a high-level meeting on the 14th of February 2024.

By signing the manifesto, the three MEPs reaffirmed their political commitment to advancing cancer care in Europe and aiding in eradicating healthcare disparities.

CPE has collected eleven endorsements thus far, and we will continue to work tirelessly to advance our mission of eliminating barriers to cancer care across Europe. As we continue this endeavor, we call for various stakeholders’ support. From healthcare professionals to patient advocacy organisations, researchers, policymakers, and industry representatives, each endorsement amplifies our collective voice and strengthens our efforts in tackling this pressing issue.

We are particularly focused on securing the backing of newly elected representatives at both an EU and local level. As an organisation with members across 18 countries, we constantly stress the necessity for widespread support to drive meaningful change and ensure equitable access to cancer care for all individuals across the continent.
